William (Bill) Atkinson

William “Bill” Atkinson, 71, died at Candler Hospital in Savannah, Georgia on November 27, 2023, after a prolonged illness, with family members at his bedside. 

Bill was a force of nature for all who knew him.

Born and raised in Savannah, Georgia, he worked as a banker and small-business consultant for over forty years, and served on the Board of Directors for the YMCA of Coastal Georgia. He is preceded in death by his mother, Ann Boling Atkinson; and brother, Ted Copland. He is survived by his children, Alex Atkinson and Tori Atkinson Sullivan; their spouses, Heather Atkinson and Ryan “Remi” Sullivan; his grandsons, Owen and Torin Atkinson; his step-father, John Atkinson; sisters, Diane Morse and Suzanne Atkinson; his brother, Thomas Atkinson; and his ex-wife, Sandee Atkinson.

Visitation will be held from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 3, 2023  at Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors, Hodgson Chapel. A memorial service will be held immediately following the visitation at 3:00 p.m.at the funeral home.
